Abstract works introduced here may at times take you on a primal or innate journey. Like the subliminal messages of our youth, to the lessons our parents taught us, to out innate drive to aspire: this gift, this planet we call earth, roots us and lifts us.
Figurative compositions created by weaving, gluing papers, fabrics, and textures. Silhouettes from photographs, images from old magazines and books, exploring themes such as the human body, architecture and collective consciousness.
The one who has tasted the bliss of the self,
may move among objects of sense without fear.
Her mind never clings to the world’s misery.
Her heart is with God and her soul is set free.
The tight, homogeneous grain structure of the linen makes it ideal for oil and pigments to merge and settle in desired form. The strong and solid backdrop opens ways to sculpturing with a large amount of pigments, allowing three–dimensional space to intrude into an otherwise two–dimensional surface.
Organic timber forms the perfect balance to the thick and heavy oil patterns. The roughness of the wood under the flowing oil induces presents a nice contrast. It is not hold back on a stretched frame but moves freely, only to freeze eventually within the laws of gravitation.
Paper offers a very smooth background. From its immaculate surface, pigments emerge in unusual patterns, acting as an attribute to the overall form. Hasty ink on dreamy oil is very capricious. Applying it right on top on flowing color opens all new horizons and excitements.
Once in a while, it is important for my inspiration and me to go elsewhere: to move away from urban into pastoral settings, making space for meditation and cloud watching. Depart into unknown lands and cultures; making every piece a landmark of the journey. Using wanderlust as a natural force of motivation, while slowly turning into a storyteller.
There’s no place like home. That place in your soul. That’s where we begun and where we all will go.. Being able to communicate my stories visually and provoking people to think differently or experience an emotion is truly magical. Inspiring each other on a multidisciplinary level and actively partake in the circle of creativity is the actual gift of creativity.
I believe in energies. Good energy serves me well. Being fair to others, compassionate towards them, remaining humble
and making a difference in someone's life are just a few of the things that create good energy. Beautiful things. Human things. I do my best to surround myself with them, to generate an atmosphere thick with such powers.
